Driving Directions

DIRECTIONS FROM DROGHEDA (d Hotel) TO FIELDSTOWN CHURCH

• At entrance to d hotel car park turn right and go past Scotch Hall Shopping Centre.
• At the next T-junction with traffic lights, turn left and immediately again at traffic lights turn right sign posted BELFAST N1.
• Follow road through the next set of traffic lights passing McDonalds on the right hand side. Continue over the River Boyne and through the next set of traffic lights, and after you go up the hill (passing Corrigan’s Bar on the right hand side) continue on the N1 out of Drogheda.
• Continue on past Kierans Motors on the right hand side, and at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit signed posted MONASTERBOICE R132.
• Continue driving on R132 - you will pass an Emo petrol station on the RHS and then continuing on you will see a monument on the right hand side (a Silver Cross mounted on a stone pyramid known as the Pope’s Cross).
• Approximately 300m past the monument you will see a yellow house. Take the exit here on the right and then take the immediate left up the hill. If you have reached the Monasterboice Inn you have gone too far - make a u-turn at the next roundabout.
• Continue on this narrow road, taking the 90 degree bend to the right, continue straight ahead and follow 90 degree bend to the left.
• Keep driving, and as you start driving down the hill, take a left turn at the farmyard and small shop. After you take the left turn (farmyard now on right hand side), continue on and Fieldstown Church will be 500m ahead on left.

DIRECTIONS FROM DROGHEDA (SCHOLARS) TO FIELDSTOWN CHURCH

• At Entrance to Scholars turn left and drive to junction, take left and follow road round to right continuing down the hill and past the church on Left Hand side. Just past the church take left and continue past hospital on left and through traffic lights at crossroads. Drive to T-junction and take right sign posted BELFAST N1.
• Continue on the N1 out of Drogheda, passing Kierans Motors on the right hand side
• At the next roundabout take the 2nd exit signed posted MONASTERBOICE R132.

DIRECTIONS FROM M1 TO FIELDSTOWN CHURCH

• After going through Toll Plaza on the M1 continue on the motorway.
• Immediately after crossing the Boyne Cable Bridge take the exit, signposted DROGHEDA NORTH.
• At top of exit-ramp, take the 4th exit off the roundabout, signposted MONASTERBOICE.
  Drive to the next roundabout and take the 2nd exit.
• At the next roundabout take the 1st exit to the left, signposted MONASTERBOICE R132.
  Continue driving on R132 - you will pass an Emo petrol station on the RHS and then continuing on you will see a monument on the right hand side (a Silver Cross mounted on a stone pyramid known as the Pope’s Cross).

DIRECTIONS FROM DUBLIN AIRPORT TO DARVER CASTLE

• Start out at Dublin Airport
• At roundabout take the 2nd exit
• At Airport Roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the M1 (signposted Dublin)
• At roundabout take the 1st exit, then join the M1 motorway (signposted Balbriggan, Belfast)
• Continue for about 20 miles, and you will reach the Toll Plaza (you will need Euros to pay for the toll - approximately Euro1.60)
• After the Toll Plaza continue on the M1 for approximately 22 miles
• Take the exit signposted Dundalk South and then at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto the N52 (signposted Ardee / Mullingar)
• Continue for approximately 5 miles on the N52 Road
• You will come to a sign for the castle (black with gold writing) on the left.
• Turn at that sign and you will arrive at the Castle.
• There is an intercom system you can use to notify the Castle of your arrival (note: the gates will be open for you to drive in on the day of the wedding).

DIRECTIONS FROM FIELDSTOWN CHURCH TO DARVER – OPTION ONE

• After the ceremony, drive back towards the R132.
• At the yellow house turn right onto R132 (rather than turning left back towards Drogheda).
• Continue on the R132 past the Monasterboice Inn (on right hand side).
• Just past the Monasterboice Inn drive down ramp, and at the T- junction turn left and follow signpost to the M1 (approx. 3.5 miles from church).
• Continue on the M1 and take the exit signposted DUNDALK SOUTH, and then at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto the N52 (signposted Ardee / Mullingar)
• Continue for approximately 5 miles on the N52 Road
• You will come to a sign for Darver Castle on the left (black with gold writing).
• Turn at this sign and you will arrive at Darver Castle.

DIRECTIONS FROM FIELDSTOWN CHURCH TO DARVER – OPTION TWO

• After the ceremony, drive back towards the R132.
• At the yellow house turn right onto R132 (rather than turning left back towards Drogheda).
• Continue on the R132 past the Monasterboice Inn (on right hand side).
• Just past the Monasterboice Inn drive down ramp, at T- junction turn left and follow sign post to M1 (approx. 3.5 miles from church).
• Continue on the M1 and take the exit signposted N33 ARDEE (approx. 9 miles from church).
• At top of ramp take the 1st left and drive towards Ardee town on the Ardee link road.
  At the roundabout near Ardee town, take 3rd exit N152 to DUNDALK (approx 15 miles from church).
• Continue driving on the N152 for approx. 6 miles, when you will see a sign post on right hand side for Darver Castle.
• At this junction turn right and drive 200 metres turning left into Darver Castle.
